Victorian Railways The Spirit of Blue & Gold explores a bygone era, from the days when the Victorian Railways was considered crucial to the fortunes of the state and when the railways was far more than just a transport business it was a great railway family, where employees were treated as valued members of the organisation. The book showcases the Victorian Railways as it was from the 1950s to the 1980s, through a spectacular array of Kodachrome images from some of Australia's most artistic photographers, as well as interviews from over 40 former railway employees. Kodachrome 35 mm film became commercially available in Australia in the early 1950s, and with its vibrant colours and grainless quality, it rapidly became the film of choice for many photographers. 250 colour Kodachrome images
